Old horn composite bows
A 1500-year-old technological feat!
Old horn composite bows,… something very interesting,….the bone plate was on a bow about 1500 years old, the other bows were made 80-200 years ago,…..these bows have very thick strings,… ..it doesn’t go into the bone plate of the Avar ( Hun )bow,….why? …..They could only use natural materials for each bow, because there was nothing else, but 1500 years ago they could make a string as thin as today’s materials, and 100 years ago the also natural string was as thick as a pencil.
